Do you have the skills and commercial experience that could help shape the creation of a new not-for-profit marketing company to promote Pembrokeshire as a tourist destination?
The Destination Pembrokeshire Partnership is looking for Strategic Advisors to join its new Driving Growth Steering Group as it looks to establish new ways of promoting Pembrokeshire as one of the UK’s best coastal destinations.
Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority Director of Delivery and Discovery and Chair of Destination Pembrokeshire, James Parkin said: “The Destination Pembrokeshire Partnership has made a great deal of progress by successfully bringing together key organisations involved in tourism delivery and developing shared goals and objectives.
“The last few years, however, have highlighted that the current model isn’t perfect and that there is still some confusion about who does what when it comes to marketing Pembrokeshire as a tourist destination.
“Our vision is to create a new company that combines the marketing activities of several public sector organisations and secures new private sector investment to maximise the impact of destination marketing in Pembrokeshire. As a result, we are seeking to appoint a handful of Strategic Advisors to help manage the process of change during the months ahead.
“In particular, we are seeking individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas: tourism growth; destination marketing; business start-up; and/or fundraising.”
The ideal candidate(s) will already be working within the tourism industry in Pembrokeshire but expressions of interest will be accepted from specialists in other sectors linked to the West Wales visitor economy.
The successful candidate(s) will be required to commit between five and eight hours per week on a voluntary basis for the next six months in order to help deliver a draft business plan for the new destination company.
Those who wish to express an interest should submit a CV and covering letter outlining why they would like a place on the Destination Pembrokeshire Driving Growth Steering Group.
Please send all information by email to [email protected] or by post to James Parkin, Chair of Destination Pembrokeshire, c/o Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire, SA72 6DY.
Applications will close on Friday (October 30) and interviews will be held during early November.
