It was busy weekend for Angle RNLI lifeboat station with three call-outs - two for the D class inshore lifeboat Richard John Talbot Hillier and the third for the station's new Tamar class lifeboat, Mark Mason.
The inshore lifeboat was launched at 10.55 am on Saturday to assist the motor cruiser Janet D, which had fouled her propellor off East Blockhouse, just inside the entrance to the Milford Haven Waterway.
The motor cruiser had two persons on board and was towed to a point off the LNG terminal, where another motor vessel known to Janet D took over the tow.
Eight hours later, at 8.55 pm, the inshore lifeboat was launched again, at the request of HM Coastguard, to investigate sightings of a red flare at Scotch Bay, Milford Haven, but nothing was found.
The third call-out came soon after midnight when the all-weather lifeboat Mark Mason launched to assist the yacht Jean Jeanie, which was between Linney Head and St Govan's Head, off the South Pembrokeshire coast.
In a three-hour operation, the lifeboat, commanded by Second Coxswain Danny Richards, escorted the yacht safely into Dale.
It was the fifth call-out for the Tamar class lifeboat, Mark Mason, since her arrival at Angle on March 17. The new lifeboat will be formally named at a ceremony early this month.
