The Torch Theatre in Milford Haven is currently experiencing something very different.

Brummie punk artist and tattoo srtist, Lee ‘Trashcan’ Minton is the artist exhibiting in the Julia Field Gallery this month. His exhibition entitled ‘Music, Wife, Life...’ features some impressive photo realism work in both acrylic and pencil inspired by his love of punk music and his life with his wife Kazzy.

Lee was drawn to the beauty and soulfulness of Pembrokeshire and relocated here from Birmingham in 2001. Since then he has run his one-man tattoo studio, in Pembroke, originally near the castle, but now at the top of Main Street. With over 21 years of tattoo experience, Lee is a master of his trade, and whilst he is an artist first and foremost, he still considers the skin the hardest art form of all. This exhibition is on canvas, but of course some of the work also reflects his daily craft.

The exhibition is a stunning display of his extraordinary talent, with tributes to music icons Bowie, Lemmy, Elvis, and Cash amongst many others. A smiling Marilyn Monroe is also featured, as are his Doc Marten boots, as well as some tender and touching images of his wife.

However, the show-stopping feature of the exhibition is a giant acrylic on canvas featuring a skull surrounded by red roses.
