If you are hoping to attend the Texaco Rotary Tsunami Appeal Ball at Folly Farm on March 1, then you'd better be quick! After launching the event just four weeks ago, the target of selling 800 tickets has nearly been reached, and just a handful are left. Application forms can been obtained from HSBC Bank, Main Street, Pembroke, or by 'phoning the hotline on 01646 684037. There has also been fantastic reaction to the event, with many offers of assistance from individuals and businesses alike. Pembroke Rotarian Frank Harries had the shock of his life this week when he received an offer he couldn't refuse from the Bridal Collection, Pembroke Dock. Proprietors Andrea and Rob Davies have offered a wedding gown, veil and tiara up to the value of £1,000 to help raise cash for the appeal. "I was stunned by the generosity of the offer," said Frank Harries. "Andrea said that she had seen our posters and thought that she could do something to help." The wedding gown will now be auctioned on the evening of the ball, with Haverfordwest's Brian Harries acting as auctioneer.
