Bonus Ball Last Saturday's winner was Peter Dunbar - again; he was lucky enough to have won it only a month ago. Wednesday was a rollover again. The reason there's such a lot of rollovers on a Wednesday is the fact that there's not the full complement of players as on a Saturday So if you fancy a 'dabble', contact Lyn Deli. Big Honour

Last Saturday, our own Julia King Thomas was installed as the junior vice-president of the Welsh Ladies Bowling Association, which means that 'Jules' will become the top lady in Welsh Ladies Bowls in two years time. From all in the club, well done Julia. Fixtures 2006

The fixtures for next season have already been produced, and Tenby, under the captaincy of Andrew Muskett and vice-captain Dai Spencer will start with a friendly against Ammanford on Saturday, April 15, followed by Kidwelly on the 22nd. The Five Arches have a friendly against St. Issell's, provisionally on the day after, and Fishguard on the 23rd. They then open their league campaign with a home tie against St. Thomas from Haverfordwest. They will also be involved in the Brewers Cup, which will be played on Thursday evenings.

Good News

Over the past week there has been some encouraging news received for the club, and in particular the Five Arches squad. Returning to bowls next season are Dai Rees and Ron Hurlow and new member, local boy Kenny 'Learnie' Williams, and former members, Keith Hubbard and Brian Winstone, have intimated they could well return to the fold. Another possibility is Kevin 'Doughboy' Lewis. He was heard asking Ray Holly if he had a spare pair of flannels. As Ray stands around six-foot three inches and 'Doughboy' is only five-foot ten, there will have to be a good bit of needlework required. Ray is also concerned that if Kevin forgets where he is he might try and drop-kick a wood over his flat, which overlooks the green! No fear of that Ray, if he does, he will most probably clear the town walls as well, as 'Doughboy's' trusty left foot claimed many a goal for Tenby United when he played as a scrum-half. We already have two ex-United players in Roy and Tony Powling, so a third would be very welcome. With the return of Ted Brutnell, Ray Holly and Bert Barnikel next season, hopefully neither team will have the embarrassment of fielding only 15 players, as happened on three occasions this past year.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING Slowly coming or rapidly approaching, depends upon how you look at it, but Christmas is only just around the corner and the club has been decked out in all its festive regalia, which means the decorations have been put up! Archie has been the one doing the hanging, while Lyn gives him the instructions. Well you can't just go and put a drawing pin in any old where. There must be system and logic at all times. No colour clashes, bells and baubles co-ordinated, Christmas tree straight and decorations straight. Thank God they did not leave this to the 'Chain Gang'. I do not know what Dennis Watkins would have said. New Year Premier

Rene Silcox has informed me that she is planning a Calendar Girls evening and wants the men to do a 'Full Monty', whatever that means! She said she was looking for men members to help out. I volunteered Pat Currie for a start; he would love it. I bet Dai King Thomas, whose always game for a laugh, would help out. Ted Brutnell might be a surprise recruit , while brothers-in-law Dai Spencer and Jon Webb would jump at the chance! I will be glad when the bowling season starts and we can get back to a bit of sanity! Gardeners Now

They swapped their shovels and cement mixer for secateurs and rakes as the 'Chain Gang' cleared up the mess on the northern hedge of the green. It has been in a dilapidated state for years. After being cleared out, privet shrubs, kindly donated by Jerry Brutnell, were planted in their place
