It has come to the notice of the police that members of the public are receiving telephone calls, believed from Asian males, who state that they represent credit card companies and are selling life insurance.
Recipients of the phone calls are asked to give their credit card details on the pretext that if they did not want insurance cover the caller could cancel it.
Members of the public are reminded that they should take all possible precautions and if possible ascertain that the caller is genuine before giving credit card details over the phone.
