The construction of the new Bluestone Roundabout on the A4075 near Canaston Bridge has been successfully completed a week ahead of schedule. The roundabout has been designed to create a new access to the Bluestone development, while enhancing traffic safety. The £750,000 scheme started in December and was managed by Pembrokeshire County Council's highway and construction division. Clr. Jamie Adams, cabinet member for highways, transportation and asset improvement, praised the management of the project. "The whole team has worked hard through the winter months to ensure the works were completed and the temporary traffic lights removed before the start of the summer holiday season," he said. The works were funded by Bluestone and carried out by local contractor Jones Brothers. Bluestone engineering manager Steve Buckingham said: "We realise motorists have been inconvenienced by the traffic lights that have been in place during construction of the roundabout, so we thank them for their patience. "I think it's clear though that this new road layout represents a significant benefit to the area in terms of road safety. "For us at Bluestone, seeing the first signs going up was great. They really point the way to a new era in Pembrokeshire tourism!"
