Tenby in Bloom received a boost last week with a cheque for £220 donated by Mrs. Pam Maggs, of the Southcliff Hotel.
The money was raised at a special afternoon cream tea to celebrate the 90th birthday of HM The Queen at the Victoria Street hotel.
Accepting the cheque, Bloom chairman, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, was absolutely delighted with the generous donation.
“Unfortunately, as everyone is aware, the continued cutbacks local authorities are having to make to non-essential services mean that Tenby will now have to do more itself to ensure that our standards are maintained, and we’re thrilled Mrs. Maggs thought of us,” she said.
“Any donation like this will go towards providing perennial flowering shrubs for the town’s gardens which will help to maintain our floral colour, but reduce the amount that has to be spent on bedding plants year on year,” added Clr. Mrs. Lane.
