Despite the hot and windy weather, 39 pupils, parents and staff from Lamphey School took part in an eight-mile bike ride from Neyland to Johnston and back.
The ride was organised by headteacher, Simon Thomas, and Sue Mathias - the school's Sustrans 'Bike It' officer.
'Bike It' is a national scheme delivered by Sustrans - the UK's leading sustainable transport charity - which aims to increase the number of young people cycling to school.
Said Mr. Thomas: "Since the school signed up to the 'Bike It' project last November, it has captured the imagination of pupils, parents and staff.
"We have seen a huge increase in the numbers of pupils cycling to school with friends, parents and on their own and the support from the Sustrans team has been first class.
"It is a great initiative that gets children and adults out and about on their bikes."
Sustrans rangers Peter Griffiths, Jim Harwood and Nicki Shanklin assisted riders and were a big help on the day.
Sue Mathias said: "The ride has been a huge success with youngsters as young as seven completing the route. Everybody who took part has asked that we arrange another ride later in the year."
