A leading Welsh artist is helping Tenby's Boxing Day Swim get in the frame for fundraising for its 40th anniversary event.

Claudia Williams has agreed that 100 prints of her striking painting of festive bathers on the North Beach can be sold to raise money for The Big Red Swim charities, which are being headlined by Ty Hafan.

The Tenby-based artist is particularly known for her pictures of family life and figures on beaches, and she captured the busy post-swim atmosphere in her painting in 2001.

"It's a typical scene of a wonderful Tenby event," said Claudia. "I'm delighted to be able to support the swim in this way. It's a way of bringing art to more people, and raising money for charity at the same time."

Added swim chairman Chris Osborne: "Claudia's painting really captures the camaraderie and quirkiness of the swim, and we are sure the limited run of prints is going to be a sell-out."

The prints are now on sale for £15 (unmounted) at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, where the original painting is on permanent display, and at JRJ Frames, Upper Frog Street, Tenby, where they can also be bought mounted for £17.50 and framed from £34.50.
