Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority planners have given the go-ahead for the conversion of the first floor of Saundersfoot's Barbeque building into a museum.
The application by Saundersfoot Community Council seeks to convert the first floor of the old colliery office on the harbour into a museum, while also providing office space for the community council on the second floor.
Its ground floor use as an information centre would remain.
"This is a welcome application," the National Park's development control officer, Mrs. Cathy Milner, told members of the Park's planning committee on Wednesday.
"It will provide a new community use to the upper floors of this most important building in the heart of the Saundersfoot Conservation Area."
Local member, Clr. Mrs. Rosemary Hayes fully supported the application.
"Something we have wanted in Saundersfoot for some time is a museum," she commented.
