Sir,
Over the years, my family has visited Tenby many times, and holidays there have always been greatly enjoyed.
Having just returned home after yet another holiday there, I have to say that this was the best ever, thanks to the afternoon traffic ban. To be able to wander through the streets of the lovely old town without being constantly 'hounded' by slowly moving vehicles was a real joy; also to be able to breathe, without being choked by petrol fumes.
I congratulate the council on its boldness in taking this decision, and trust it will be a regular ban every August. In fact, I would go further and ban from mid-July to mid-September, in order to cover the whole of the school holidays.
