Three members of HM Coastguard Tenby Sector have recently received long service awards. The resort's station officer Mike Day received a 20- year award, while Graham Jones, a member of both Manorbier and Tenby teams, and Mike Tebbutt (Tenby unit) received bars to their long service medals in recognition of 30 years service. The awards were presented by Carl Evans, acting area operations manager, at a ceremony at Tenby Sailing Club on Monday night. Seen with Carl (centre) are Graham (left) and Mike (Day). Mike (Tebbutt) was unable to attend the evening, but his award was received by his wife Ruth.

A number of local coastguards have received Chief Coastguard Commendations for meritorious service for their relief work during last summer's flooding in Gloucester. Receiving the awards at Tenby Sailing Club on Monday were: Des Rees, Dave Robins, Chris Rogers and Mark Parkin (Tenby); Sophie Scourfield (St. Govan's); Steve Heckler and Darren Sainty (Llansteffan); Dave Miller (sector manager); and Carl Evans (acting area operations manager). Other award winners, Kevin Rogers (Dale) and Chris Rigby and Kate Morgan (St. Govan's) were unable to attend the presentation.
