A TENBY based artist scooped a prestigious award at the 'Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours 2010 Exhibition' recently.

Naomi Tydeman, a self-taught watercolourist who runs her own gallery in Cobb Lane, just off Tudor Square, won the 'Winsor and Newton RI Award' for the 'most outstanding group of paintings in the show' at the annual exhibition held at the Mall Galleries (Federation of British Artists) in London.

Naomi, who opened her Tenby gallery, which also doubles as her studio, in 1998, is said to have spent her prize money immediately on a holiday to Barbados.
