TENBY based Rosalind Moore, singer, actress (seen above), and Wynford James (pianist, singer), together known as 'Love on a Piano', have featured across the media this past year.
They were to be seen at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff on Armed Forces Day when they entertained VIPs awaiting the arrival of the Grand March from Cardiff Castle. You may also have heard them on BBC Radio Wales in a live interview with Roy Noble and again on S4C's Wedi Tri.
At the end of every year, their emphasis is put on taking a Christmas show to mainly residential homes as 'Heart and Soul', so that people who are unable to access any outside entertainment are able to enjoy a professional show.
'Have piano will travel' and with the determination not to let people down, they set off for North Wales despite the arctic conditions that had been forecast. They had invited their audiences to 'Swing into Christmas' with 'Heart and Soul', their fun-filled show featuring a selection of the most memorable songs of the Christmas period wrapped up in a magical package of seasonal colour, costumes and a theme suitable for all.
The first two days at the beginning of the month saw them travelling home from touring Leominster, Wrexham and Ludlow in treacherous blizzard conditions over mountainous areas.
The following period, between December 6 and 15, the conditions in South and West Wales were not dissimilar, but the worst and most beautiful was yet to come.
The venues where they performed were: Gwynfa, Cardiff; Penrhos, Caerffili; Blackmill in the Ogwr Valley; Tower Hill, Penarth; Park House Court, Tenby; Dol Gwili, St. Clears; Pencoed, Pentlepoir; and Castle View, Llawhaden
December 17 was the beginning of their North Wales tour. With a lot of grit and determination, they reached Caernarfon and as they sang 'Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow", so it began to fall! Sir Fon had not seen the like for 50 years.
This was a real challenge and meet it they did as they turned up at their venues to the amazement of managers and residents in these residential homes.
The venues visited were: Bangor Day Centre, Caernarfon; Plas Crigyll, Bryngwran; Plas Gwilym, Penygroes; Gwyddfor, Bodedern; Ty Rhos, Malltraeth; Plas Hedd, Bangor; Ty Gwyn, Gwalchmae; Plas Newydd, Criccieth.
The only venue they failed to reach was Bryn y Mor, Nebo, which was completely inaccessible to all forms of traffic (except Santa's sleigh!). Many apologies are proffered to the residents who were looking to their return.
