Sir,
The Amusement Arcade in St. George Street has been in operation for well over a year now, but it does not appear to have become a centre of public disorder and debauchery, as some people apparently feared. Further, the frontal facade of the premises blends in well with the surroundings and is far from obtrusive.
When the development was first proposed a number of individuals and organisations were vociferous in their public opposition to the proposal and many column inches of this newspaper were devoted to their opinions.
Since the grounds for this opposition have largely proved to be unfounded, I would have thought that some form of public acknowledgement of this from those individuals and organisations would not be amiss and would enhance their future credibility.
