Parking in the Saundersfoot area remains a problem in the summer months.
At a meeting of the village's community council, Inspector Les Clark explained that he had tried to ensure that Saundersfoot received a fair allocation of traffic warden patrol time.
"I can report that so far officers and wardens have issued 105 notices for parking. This equates to fine revenue of £3,150, none of which comes to the police," he said.
"I understand that Pembs. County Council are considering taking over responsibility for the enforcement of parking regulations in the county. I would strongly support this initiative. Besides the freeing up of police resources, any fine revenue raised would be ploughed back into local services rather than being poured into central government coffers."
