As part of the Welsh Government initiative, the Great Weekend of Adventure, Tenby Museum and Art Gallery is holding an adventure for the imagination in the form of pirate storytelling for children.
Tenby town crier and actor Teifion Powell will be reading two piratical works, one in rhyme form, the other a children’s story and he and the museum staff will be dressed as pirates.
The event starts at 11 am on Sunday, April 3.
Collections manager Mark Lewis, who also wrote the rhyme on Tenby pirate Leekie Porridge, said: “Although the museum cannot offer a typical physical adventure such as abseiling or mountain biking, we can provide an adventure for the mind and we are hoping that this pirate storytelling will stimulate the imagination. We are going to be fully dressed as pirates for the event and we are encouraging anyone who comes along to do the same! The usual admission fee applies, with children having free admission, but if anyone comes as a pirate, we are offering £1 off the admission price! It should be great fun! The costumes have been generously sponsored by Roland Grigg, of Griggles, and we are grateful to Roland once again for his support.”
