Well done and thanks goes to all members of the Tenby Aces who took part in the recent fun ’Proclaimers 500 Miles’ swim challenge to raise monies for two local charities organised by Emma Richards.
Emma along with Tracey Thomas, Stephanie Waring and Mel Morgan had planned to swim 5km (3 miles) each day for three days in March as part of the National Swimathon.
As all events cancelled they came up with the idea of completing it in the sea or in a swimming pool over what would have been Ironman Wales Weekend.
As the idea progressed and more people wanted to be involved, the Challenge evolved and kept members busy throughout September!
From a small entry fee of £2.50, £65 was raised for the ‘Conquer a Stroke’ Charity for Stroke Rehabilitation and £65 for the ‘Miles for Maddie’ Charity. Maddie plans to have riding lessons after losing her leg.
The Clubs then presented medals to all who took part as a total of 523 miles was swam by - Alan Richards, Sophie Burke, Dawn Morgan, Nicola Coates, Carlton Coates, Kate, Ellie and Molly Mathias, Laura Furness, Gracie Davies, James Tomkinson, Mike James, Naomi Tomkinson, Ann Rowell, Ieuan Rowell, Claire Louise Thomas, Rob Conway, Penny Harries, Clair White, Ian Warne, Huw Benbow, Nalda Wainright, Ann Maggs, Karen Vickey, Deb Phillips, Jon Phillips, David Poole, Ceire Merrison, Will Lewis, Kathryn Bates, Cerys Morgan, Neil Morgan and the McBeth Family, Zoe, Chris and Luke in Colchester.
