Three brothers from Pembroke who were former champion ploughmen during the 1950s and '60s were delighted to attend the World Vintage Ploughing Championships which took place on a 100-acre site at Carew Cross towards the end of last year.
John, Tudor and Elwyn Harries, of Wallaston Farm, Pembroke, were at the World Invitation Vintage Ploughing event, which was held to mark the golden jubilee of the annual South Pembrokeshire match and featured 104 competitors from countries including Northern and Southern Ireland, Denmark, Netherlands, Isle of Man, as well as England and Wales.
Secretary and prime motivator, Gordon Harries, his committee and many willing helpers did a remarkable job under trying conditions to make the event, which saw enthusiastic crowds attend, a great success.
