On Saturday, the members of the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot were joined by members of the public to enjoy a performance by the Music Hall Players in the RAOB Club in Kilgetty. The purpose of the evening was to raise funds for charity.
The Music Hall Players were founded some 32 years ago and perform with enthusiasm a programme of wit and song based on the style of the Old Palace of Varieties.
On the night, the Master of Ceremonies was Patrick Jones, who captured the audience's attention with his quintessential sartorial eloquence.
It was a magical evening of delightful medleys of songs sung by enthusiastic performers in colourful costumes, who soon had members of the audience singing along with them; songs that took most of the audience back to their childhood days. In addition, there were thoroughly amusing comedy sketches which generated loud applause and laughter from the audience.
During the interval, there was a raffle of some 15 prizes donated by Rotarians.
Club president, Jean Watson, thanked the RAOB Club for allowing the Rotary Club to use their facilities without charge to boost the fund-raising, with a special vote of thanks to the Music Hall Players for generously giving their time and energy to perform so eloquently to a very happy audience.
The evening closed in traditional style with the company and audience singing a chorus of 'Down at the Old Bull and Bush'.
