Sir,

Via the Tenby Observer's Letters page, I wish to express my appreciation of this event on December 4 at the De Valence Pavilion.

Put on by the Round Table, the tables at the De Valence were beautifully decorated and the food and drink served (by Qube restaurant) were of the best quality, from the delicious parsnip, leek and potato soup starter, the roast Pembrokeshire turkey main course and fine wines such as the Australian Shiraz to the sherry trifle dessert.

This was the first time I'd been to the dinner and I wondered whether many communities across Britain are as fortunate as Tenby's senior citizens in this way.

The entertainment was delightful, including St. Mary's Church Choir and 'Ole Mr. Blue Eyes' himself, aka Laurie Dale, sadly without his longstanding stage partner, Pauline Allen, who was unwell.

Even the raffle tickets were free, with lovely prizes for those lucky enough to win.

So I say a big 'Thank You' to the Round Table and all those involved in making it such a happy and top-notch occasion.

Anne Alton,

Tenby.
