Tenby RNLI quickly responded to a call and rescued a boat in distress near Saundersfoot on Sunday morning.

The all-weather lifeboat was requested to launch at 10.45am on Sunday, August 24, after a report by the Saundersfoot RNLI beach Lifeguards that a 22ft boat with four people on board was drifting close to the rocks between Amroth and Wiseman's Bridge.

The volunteer crew were quickly on the water and were on scene around eight minutes later, where they found the vessel, which now had three people onboard and one in the water, attempting to hold the boat off the rocks.

The Y-boat was launched and managed to get to the vessel before it went onto the rocks.

The person was recovered from the water, back to the casualty vessel and the Y-boat then towed the boat clear of the rocks and out to the all-weather lifeboat, which continued the tow towards Saundersfoot.

Once back at Saundersfoot, the vessel was put on an outside mooring and the occupants were dropped ashore, where they were met by members of Tenby and St Govans Coastguard rescue teams.

The lifeboat then stood down to return to station, arriving at 12.20pm.
