Tenby RNLI's lifeboat was launched during the early hours of Sunday after cries were reported near St Catherine's Island.

The all-weather lifeboat was launched shortly before 2.30am on Sunday, December 7, after a member of the public thought they heard cries for help coming from the vicinity of St Catherine's Island, which sits off Castle Beach.

The volunteer crew made the short distance around to the beach and began a shoreline search from St Catherine's Island up as far as Giltar, using searchlights and both thermal and night vision cameras.

After thoroughly searching the shoreline, whilst teams searched ashore and with nothing found and nobody reported missing, the lifeboat was stood down and rehoused shortly before 4am.
