Tenby RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was requested to launch at 5.35pm on Monday June 9, after the Coastguard received a call stating that a kite surfer looked to be in difficulty around 300 metres off Giltar Point.
The volunteer crew were soon on the water and were on scene within a few minutes, where they quickly located the casualty.
After a brief chat, the casualty confirmed that the wind had dropped suddenly, meaning he was unable to make any headway, but he was confident that the wind had now picked up enough to allow him to get ashore.
With the kite surfer now back underway and making his was to the shore, the lifeboat was stood down to return to station, arriving at 6pm.
