Tenby’s all-weather lifeboat the Haydn Miller was launched at around 12.25 pm today (Wednesday), following a call for assistance from a fishing vessel stating that a crew member was experiencing severe chest pain some 6 miles south west of Worm’s Head.

As the volunteer crew made their way to the vessel, 14 miles south east of Tenby, Fisheries Protection Vessel ‘Rhodri Morgan’ answered the call for assistance, along with a Coastguard rescue helicopter.

The ‘Rhodri Morgan’ vessel was on scene first and put crew members aboard to assess the casualty.

They were quickly followed by the Coastguard helicopter, who lowered their Paramedic to the casualty vessel. The lifeboat stood off, ready to offer assistance if need be.

After being assessed by the Paramedic, the casualty was winched into the helicopter and flown to hospital in Swansea for further treatment.
