Police are appealing for information following a vicious attack at a South Pembrokeshire nightclub.

Twenty-seven-year-old Jessica Delroy was enjoying a night out with friends when seemingly out of nowhere she was hit in the face with a bottle at The Sands, Saundersfoot.

Jessica, who works at Brooklands Nursing Home and lives in Pentlepoir, said: “I couldn’t tell you exactly what happened. All I remember was walking past a group on the way to the dance floor with a male friend. Suddenly, a girl from the group grabbed him to pull him over towards them to dance. I tried to pull him back and then one of the girls grabbed my hair and the other one hit me with the bottle. My friend tried to cover my face to protect me, but she managed to still catch me. I don’t know who they were, all I know is I was told they had Welsh accents.”

Jessica suffered a bump to her head from the bottle and cuts underneath her eyes where the glass cut her.

“I was very lucky,” she added.

“I have two black eyes and a scar, but it will heal on its own.”

Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for anyone with information about the assault to contact them.

A spokesman said: “At approximately 3.35 am on Sunday June 19, police received a report that a 27-year-old woman had been assaulted in the Sands in Saundersfoot. The assault had happened some hours prior to the report. The 27-year-old woman sustained minor head and facial injuries after a glass bottle was used to assault her on the dance floor of the premises. She was conveyed to hospital to be checked. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police by calling 101.”

Added Jessica: “A lot of people have sent me messages of support and telling me what they saw, so I just hope they will also tell the police.”
