A 60-year-old woman from Milford Haven has been fined in court after pleading guilty to a charge of possessing cannabis.

Sandra Phillips, of Richard John Road, admitted a charge of possessing four grammes of herbal cannabis when she appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday.

Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that police officers executed a search warrant at the defendant’s address on October 13, and Miss Phillips produced two plastic bags containing cannabis.

“She told officers that she bakes with it and makes cakes containing cannabis, as she rarely smoked it as she has a bad chest,” he said.

Magistrates fined the defendant £80 for the offence and ordered her to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge. They also passed a destruction order for the drugs.
