The Mayor of Pembroke has been summonsed to appear in court to answer charges relating to historic counts of rape and indecent assault against children.
Clr. Dai Boswell, who was elected Mayor of the town in May, and also serves as county councillor for Pembroke St Mary North, is charged with six counts of indecent assault and one count of rape against two victims who were aged under 13 at the time.
The offences are alleged to have been committed between 1991 and 1994.
A hearing is due to take place at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Wednesday, September 13.A spokesperson for Pembrokeshire County Council said: “This is a Police and CPS matter and the Council can make no further comment at this time.“Pembrokeshire County Council continues to keep under review all necessary safeguarding measures pending the outcome of any prosecution.”
