A Milford man has been fined after admitting a charge of being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Twenty-four-year-old Andrew Raymond Mathias, of Skomer Drive, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday to plead guilty to the offence which occurred at Marble Hall Road on January 14.

Prosecutor Dennis Davies told the court that police officers were called to the area after receiving a report of a man drunk and stumbling around in public.

When officers arrived, they were told of an earlier incident involving Mr. Mathias and while they were there he used obscene language towards them on a number of occasions.

“He was warned about his behaviour, but didn’t stop and was arrested,” said Mr. Davies.

Addressing the court himself, Mr. Mathias apologised for his behaviour, explaining that it was the first night that he had drunk alcohol for a very long time.

Magistrates fined him £40 for the offence and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
