A new ‘Catch up with a Copper’ initiative has been set up for Tenby with the purpose of engaging with residents on any issues they may have within the community.
The first meeting organised by Dyfed Powys Police will take place at Augustus Place Community Centre on Monday, February 25, between 6 and 7 pm. It is hoped that if the scheme is successful then other meetings will take place at other venues in the town itself, to help the Tenby Neighbourhood Policing Team meet with the towns people to discuss any concerns relating to their streets and areas.
“The PACT meetings we used to hold in Tenby were an opportunity for residents of Tenby and the surrounding areas to speak with their local Neighbourhood Policing Team about the concerns and problems facing their local communities, but unfortunately attendances waned and they were no longer arranged,” explained PCSO Paul Emmanuel.
“We are hoping our ‘Catch up with a Copper’ meetings will allow people from all over Tenby to come and get to know your local PCSOs and Neighbourhood Policing Team, in an informal manner, enabling them to let us know of any concerns they have, and how we can help solve any problems,” he continued.
“It’s about us engaging with the public, as we want to know what’s going on in the community and what matters to residents, as some times we can help with the little things,” added PCSO Stephanie Rayner.
Free tea and coffee will be served at the meetings, with all welcome to attend.
