A 12-metre yacht, with three people on board, was escorted to safety by Angle RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat on Saturday.
The Tamar class lifeboat Mark Mason had been launched at 2.14 pm to assist the yacht, which had engine failure and was at anchor, about 200 metres off the SemLogistics Terminal at Waterston in the Milford Haven Waterway.
When the lifeboat reached the yacht, the crew were carrying out repairs to the engine’s cooling system and, soon, the engine was running again.
Once satisfied that the problem was rectified, the yacht’s anchor was recovered and the vessel proceeded to Neyland, escorted by the lifeboat.
At Neyland, with the yacht safely berthed alongside, the lifeboat was released to return to her station, where she was rehoused at 3.49 pm.
