Angle RNLI (based at Milford Haven Lifeboat Station) are now recruiting for Launch Authority roles.

The role of the Launch Authority is varied, but their main responsibilities include:

• Responding to, and authorising Tasking Requests from HM Coastguard

• Carrying a pager and being on call as part of a prearranged rota system

• Providing leadership in the absence of the Lifeboat Operations Manager

• Ensuring that all operational activities are carried out to maintain the lifeboat and all associated equipment in a constant state of readiness for launching on service.

• Forming a part of the stations Operations Team and attending monthly Operations Team meetings.

A spokesperson shared: “Angle RNLI responded to 100 service launches last year, and the Launch Authority played a pivotal role in each and every one.
