A team of local police officers and members of Neyland Judo Club, who recently completed a gruelling mountain climbing challenge for a Pembrokeshire charity, have thanked their main sponsor Valero.
The '11Men3Peaks24Hours' team completed the 3 Peaks Challenge - climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours - in July, raising over £8,000 for the Paul Sartori Foundation. This included a £1,000 donation from Valero Pembroke Refinery.
Mark Guest, who led the team, thanked Valero for their support, saying: "The 3 Peaks Challenge was extremely tough, but raising over £8,000 for the Paul Sartori Foundation meant it was absolutely worth it. It was an amazing result, and a sign of just how generous the people of Pembrokeshire are. The £1,000 donation from Valero really helped us achieve our goal, and on behalf of the team I'd like to say a big thank you to Valero for their donation."
Stephen Thornton, Valero public affairs manager, said: "Pembroke Refinery has a very close relationship with the Paul Sartori Foundation, and we are always happy to help with any fundraising that will go towards helping this truly special Pembrokeshire charity carry out the important work it provides to patients across the county. So when the '11Men3Peaks24Hours' team asked for our help, we were only too pleased to support their remarkably worthwhile efforts."
