Local lad Yannic Parker, son of Chris Parker and Cornelia Parker-Krampf and the grandson of the late Tom Parker, previously of Park House Hotel, Tenby, recently gained his first senior Welsh rugby league cap v Scotland in the Rugby League European Championships, at Workington.

Yannic played on the wing for Wales on this occasion; unfortunately Wales lost the game 42-18.

Yannic, from Saundersfoot, went to Greenhill School and Whitland School where he learnt his rugby along with local rugby clubs Tenby United and Whitland RFC.

On leaving school, Yannic studied at Gloucester University, where he gained four student international caps playing in the Student Tri-Nations.

In addition, Yannic has played for the South Wales Scorpions, South Wales Hornets, Gloucester All Golds and now is with Oxford Rugby League.

Yannic became the 491st capped player for Wales Rugby League and joins a long list of hall of fame players with this cap, such as Jonathan Davies, Scott Gibbs, Iestyn Harris and Gareth Thomas.

Yannic remains in the rugby league squad and is continuing training with the international team, where he is hoping to be selected for future international games.
