LADIES' SECTION

Whitland Ladies have made an impressive start to the season by winning their first league game against Tenby, gaining maximum points in the process.

It was a bitterly cold day in Tenby, but it didn't cool the enthusiasm for the game, with both teams playing excellent bowls at such an early stage in the season, albeit wrapped up in several layers of clothing.

Whitland took an early lead on both rinks, which they managed to maintain and build throughout the game. Well done ladies.

Hearty congratulations to Katie Thomas on being selected for the Welsh Indoor Bowls Under 18s team - quite an achievement at the tender age of 12. We would also like to wish Katie well after her recent stay in hospital and hope to see her back on the green soon.
