Local boy Yannic Parker, son of Saundersfoot sporting stalwart Chris Parker, who attended Saundersfoot Primary School, Greenhill and Dyffryn Taf sixth form, recently played for the Welsh Universities in the Rugby League Four Nations International Championships at Wrexham.
The team was coached by Clive Griffiths, the current Crusaders coach.
After beating Scotland and Ireland comfortably, in a thrilling final match Wales defeated the old enemy England by 20 points two 18, with Yannic scoring two tries, including the winning try, making him the top try scorer of the tournament with five in three matches.
Yannic was also signed earlier this year by professional rugby league side, the South Wales Scorpions. So far he has played four professional matches, including a Challenge Cup fourth round match against Halifax.
We all wish Yannic great success in his furure sporting career.
