TROTs Running Club have taken part in a series of enduring events over the past month.
It began on October 6 with Brian Williams, Tom Bryant and Jonathan Jones all taking part in the Coastal Challenge Series in Little Haven, Pembs., with Brian Williams finishing the half marathon in 3:10 winning first place M60 category, Tom Bryant the marathon 5:10, and Jonathan Jones completing the ultra-marathon in 6:51, finishing in a remarkable 11th place.
Jason Dickinson travelled to Chester to take part in the marathon and finished with a personal best of 2:49 minutes, placing him 29th position overall and winning a silver medal Welsh championship M40 category.
Next on the calendar was the annual 10k Survival of the Fittest in Cardiff. Five team members did very well to complete the grueling event - Simon Scurrell 1:12, Jonathan Hancock 1:14, Adrienne Mackintosh 1:25, Anwen Jones 1:33, Keith Powell 1:35.
Twenty-two team members raced in the Lloyds TSB Cardiff half marathon and Welsh championships on Sunday, October 14. Both Shan Roberts and Mary Bowen-Rees did exceptionally well to win their age categories in 1:21 and 1:32. The Trots ladies team (Shan Roberts, Elizabeth Tremlett, Mary Bowen-Rees) also did very well to finish third place overall and first place in the Welsh championships.

And finally, Trots had a record number of senior men runners at the first match of the Gwent Cross Country League at Bridgend on Sunday, October 21. Twelve men raced in a huge field of 334 starters in perfect sunny conditions, finishing 12th place overall.

The senior ladies team had seven runners in a field of 189 starters and did very well to finish in sixth place overall. Shan Roberts raced in her first ever cross country race and finished in eighth place.
