It is always a pleasure playing golf with the seniors at Derrlys Court. Their is a friendly welcome, the course is high above the motorway close to Carmarthen and is undulating with plenty of water hazards, a good test of golf.
Unusually for this year, we had a rain free Thursday for our match. Unfortunately for us, our scoring was not good enough to achieve victory.
We lost 6-2. The two successes came from the captain Pat Casement with partner Trevor Lewis and from Dave Crowley and Jak Zeaschi. Those that lost mostly did so by narrow margins.
After the game we enjoyed bangers and mash and listened to a fine speech from the Derrlys Court captain. We look forward to a return match at Trefloyne in October.
Our next match is away to Haverfordwest on Thursday, August 2.
