Trefloyne Manor have recently created an exciting new partnership with Tenby Leisure in a bid to make golf accessable to everyone, thus promoting Trefloyne's 'golf for all' philosophy.

Throughout the school holidays our head professional and his team will be delivering a series of fun and challenging sessions aimed at allowing more people to enjoy the benefits golf as a sport has to offer.

Following the success of the Ryder Cup in 2010 and the inclusion of golf as a sport in the next Olympics in Rio, this is great opportunity to try a sport that will once again take the world by storm.

Backed by Sport Wales, Pembrokeshire Sport and Golf Development Wales, the scheme will be free of charge to all participants and will initially be aimed at children aged four to 12.

Club captain Nick Garrod said: "This is great partnership for Tenby and allows both local residents and visitors to experience the game in an informal yet exciting environment. I am looking forward to welcoming those participants who take up the development pathway to the club this year."

This Easter holidays the scheme will run on Thursdays, April 17 and 24, with times available at 10 am, 11am and 12noon.

For more information or to register, please contact Tenby Leisure Centre on 01834 843575 or call the Pro-Shop on 01834 845639. Times will fill up quickly and will be issued on a first come first served basis, so please register early.

Golfers of the Week

Our golfers of the week this week are Alice Gottwaltz and Mia Rowell.

Alice goes to Stepaside Primary, has been attending the Academy for over a year and is learning the basics very quickly.

Mia has been part of the Academy set-up for over three years and is looking forward to venturing out onto the golf course soon to beat her grandad Alan.

Please remember the Academy is open to children of all ages and abilities and offers juniors the chance to learn the game in a fun and relaxed environment. All coaching is undertaken by fully qualified PGA professionals and follows a six-week programme on both weekdays and weekends.

With the rugby and football seasons beginning to slow down, why not introduce your child/grandchild into a great sport this summer? Please call the Pro-Shop for more info on 01834 845639.
