Tenby AFC has been awarded one of the highest accolades in grassroots football, having received Silver Accreditation by the Welsh Football Trust's Club Accreditation Scheme.

The club accreditation scheme forms part of the Welsh Football Trust's programme to improve opportunities for kids to get involved in football. Sponsored by McDonald's, Community Partner of the Football Association of Wales and The Welsh Football Trust, the scheme was established to ensure standards of excellence within the grassroots football community.

A total of 11 clubs across South Wales have all been awarded the coveted Silver status, having ensured their coaches work with no more than 16 players, there is a minimum of two coaches per team (with at least one coach holding a FAW 'C' Certificate), as well as establishing a formal recruitment process and providing correct equipment for each age group.

McDonald's director of Welsh Football Ian Rush said: "To be awarded silver accreditation is a superb achievement. All the clubs have done exceptionally well to earn the accolade, which is testament to the hard work of a huge number of volunteers across Wales who ensure our young players learn and play grassroots football in the best possible environment."

Dene Hurlow, club secretary at Tenby AFC, added: "On behalf of everyone at Tenby AFC, I'd personally like to thank all of the coaches here who continue to volunteer their time to give young players the opportunity to learn and play a game that they love.

"We're incredibly proud to have received recognition from the Welsh Football Trust and Community Partner, McDonald's, and look forward to reaching the ultimate goal - gold accreditation in the coming years! "
