THE Royal Yachting Association’s Youth National Championships were held in Pwllheli last week.
Youngsters from all over the UK competed, and despite unfortunate conditions on Wednesday when an unexpected squall caused 15 capsizes, two sailors with Tenby connections did really well.
Overall results: Amelia Nuttall of Neyland YC, finished 4th from 15 in the ILCA 6 Class, and Ed Stubbs with crew Jack Solly in their 29er, sailing from Lyme Regis SC, finished 8th from 40.
Bronwen Thomas of Pembrokeshire Performance Sailing Academy came 6th in the ILCA 6 class.

Local dinghy racing fell foul to the weather again, with no results to report at Tenby Sailing Club.
Dan Jackson has had committee approval to purchase National Redwing 244 from its owner in Looe Sailing Club.
This Redwing used to belong to Rolly Squibbs, and its return to Tenby will help to boost numbers and will be available for interested sailors to take part in the Redwing races.
Junior Training: The first session on April 16th was well attended, and despite the weather, Terry succeeded in providing excellent sustenance from the barbecue.
