Pictured are six Tenby Redwing sailors, Deanna and Mike Stace, Bill and Nan Dowell, Ruth and Alex McDonald, who braved the high seas of the Scillies and completed six races, plus an ‘around the islands regatta race’ with over 50 traditional boats competing.

In the National Redwing championships with 30 boats competing, the ardent sailors all gained admirable positions, with Mike and Deanna overall sixth, Bill and Nan ninth and Alex and Ruth 13th. A superb accolade for Tenby Sailing Club and the Redwings.

In the islands race, finishing at St. Agnes, the Redwings took all the winning positions. An amazing feat for this traditional class which has been part of Tenby Sailing Club for many years.

Awards were presented on St. Mary’s Island after a prize-giving dinner and further daytime festival on Holgates Green.
