TENBY Sailing Club’s Isabelle Nuttall did really well in the RS Tera Sport World Championship - Girls, in Travemunde, Germany. Isabelle came 3rd in her Class, and 7th out of 61 overall.

For dinghy racing on Tuesday July 21, there were exciting conditions for the nine crews, with at least six capsizes during the races! The Northerly wind, gusting to force 5, made for some spills at the gybe mark.

1st was Osprey 1342, with Ted and Lucas; 2nd was Europe 444, with Robin. Scorpion 1995, with Peter and Igor, came 3rd, while in 4th place was R225, with Mike and Alex; ILCA7 206336, with Harri, came fifth, and in 6th place was Osprey 1380, with Jaime and Matt. Three boats did not finish. Thanks go to Peter, Lewis and new member Gary for manning the Rhibs.

It was another windy outing for the Redwings on Thursday, July 23, with lots of thrills and spills, but just one capsize. In 1st position was R249, with Dan and Matt, 2nd was R225, with Mike and Alex. R228, with Bill and Peter, came third, while in 4th place was R178, with Kevin and Michelle, and 5th was RTD R244, with Robin and Steve. Peter Randles was PRO and Safety Officer.

The Redwing Sailors are gearing up for their National Inland Championships at Llys-y-Frân Reservoir, Pembrokeshire, on August 1 and 2.

On Saturday, July 25, three races were enjoyed by four crews. The first of these was won by Osprey 1380, with Dan and Matt; 2nd was Osprey 1365, with Dave and Maurice. Europe 444, with Robin, came 3rd, while in 4th place was Scorpion 1995 (Using sail no. 1933), with Peter.

Osprey 1380 repeated its victory in the second race, with Osprey 1365 in 2nd place again; Europe 444 and Scorpion 1995 maintained their respective 3rd and 4th positions.

Race 3 once again saw Osprey 1380 coming 1st, but in 2nd was Europe 444. 3rd was Osprey 1365 and 4th was Scorpion 1995.

Preparations are well in hand for the Firefly National Championships from August 8-14 which will be hosted by Tenby Sailing Club this year. Over 100 entries have been received for this 80th anniversary of the National Firefly Association class, so the North Bay will become alive with white sails for that very busy week.
