Club Sailing
The third race in the club's Frostbite series took place on Sunday morning. The gales had abated, the sun shone and a light north-westerly produced calm but cold conditions for the four participating boats.
Jaime Bohata set a triangular course, starting at the eastern, in towards the harbour, then back out to Monkstone, before heading back to the start. The biggish tide was running out strongly and at the start competitors were surprised to find the strength of the tide and the light wind combined to prevent crossing the line on starboard tack. The Alistairs in their Osprey and Ted in a Laser performed emergency pirouette manoeuvres and eventually crossed the line last and second to last!
The two Ospreys had a close race throughout, the Alistairs making up for their poor start and threatening to take the lead, but Mike and Deanna were not to be caught and they took the win, with the Alistairs second. In the Laser contest, Remy and Ted reached the windward mark together and chatted their way down the run. At the gybe, a cunning overtaking manoeuvre by Ted resulted in him hitting the mark and, while doing his penalty turn, Remy escaped to take a comfortable third.
Coached training for juniors at Tenby
A reminder that there will be open regional training at Tenby on the weekend of November 23 and 24. All juniors who are keen to improve their skills, especially to take part in racing, are invited to attend the two-day training session. This is part of a series of weekends held at Pembrokeshire clubs during the winter period. As long as you are able to sail around a triangle, then please come along. The fee is £15 per day to pay for the two coaches coming along to run the event. If interested, please ring Blake on 07717842713 to reserve a club boat.
Forecast looks like lighter winds, but cold weather gear needed. Don't forget bobble hat and gloves.

DARTS
As expected, the darts did not go well. However, it was not the normal whitewash. We actually won two games and could have won a few more if our old nemesis didn't rear its ugly head. With a positive outlook we look forward to this evening's match when we are at home to the Sun Inn, St. Florence, another mean darting ourfit. Watch this space.
