Quiz and Bangers and Mash Evening

An excellent turnout thoroughly enjoyed Terry Evans's banger and mash accompanied by his legendary onion gravy. Many thanks to Karin Morris and Julia Dashfield for their gargantuan efforts in the galley - much appreciated.

After the meal, Terry teased the intellect of members present by acting as the quizmaster of a quiz based on trivia. All entered into the spirit of the quiz with the team headed by Blake Shaw just scraping a narrow win.

Darts

Occasionally the unbelievable happens. Yes, you guessed it - we won, and the celebrations are still continuing! The evening got underway with captain, Terry Evans, hitting the first double of what turned out to be a resounding win. All members played their part in this historic win, but Terry and Paul Thomas did slip up towards the latter stages of the match -obviously the shock of winning was too much for them.

There is no match for us this evening, but a practice session is a must so that we can confidently face the Parsonage next week.

Social

Programme

Please support the club's efforts on the social front. Just a few dates to note - Terry Evans has agreed to put on a Surf and Turf evening on February 18 and a Cheese and Cawl evening on March 3. There will also be a Cheese and Wine evening, a Soup evening, some music evenings and some theme evenings. Dates will be published soon.

Jam Evening

Monday's acoustic jam session was a most enjoyable and relaxing affair, with members and friends sharing ideas and techniques, resulting in some memorable moments.

The next electric jam will take place on Wednesday, February 15. It's the place to be!

Humour

Bob was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really cheesed off. She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in six seconds. And it better be there.

The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale. Bob has been missing since Friday.

Subscriptions and Weekly Draw

It's that time of year. Yes, the annual subscriptions are due. This year we are running a weekly draw which can only be won if you are present in the club when the draw is made and you are a paid up member.

The third draw took place last Saturday, which resulted in a second rollover as the winning ticket holder was not present - so tomorrow's prize fund will be £70.

The draw was independently verified by the draw master, Paul Redford. As mentioned above, the next draw takes place tomorrow evening at 9 pm. Please note - you must be present and have your membership card with you to claim the prize!

Opening Hours

We have returned to winter openings of Friday and Saturday evenings and for occasional functions which will be advertised. Why not call in for 'lemonade' - there are not many 'watering holes' with a vista like ours.
