Tenby Rowing Club is proud to announce it has been awarded £17,736 from Sport Wales’ Be Active Wales Fund.
The grant, made possible by National Lottery funding, will support the club’s continued growth and strengthen its presence in the local community.
Reformed in 2024, Tenby Rowing Club has rapidly expanded to a thriving 50-member community. The funding will be used to purchase a brand-new Celtic longboat, a trailer, and to provide essential training for club members, ensuring long-term sustainability and greater opportunities for participation.
The Be Active Wales Fund supports grassroots clubs across the nation, helping to increase participation and keep people engaged in sport for life.
Jane Haigh, Club Captain said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to receive this funding—it’s a real game changer for us. The new boat, trailer, and training will help us grow even more and give more people the chance to get involved. It’s all about making rowing accessible, fun, and part of our community.”
Tenby Rowing Club are busy preparing for the race season in 2025 and look forward to bringing its own event to the seaside town in 2026.
