AT last the dinghy sailors were able to get afloat when the weather finally relented to allow racing to go ahead.

Four Pembrokeshire youngsters travelled to Rutland for the Tera start of season championships on April 13th and 14th.

Out of 65 entries in the Sport fleet, Neyland’s Anwen Sims came 38th, Tenby’s Isabelle Nuttall came 41st, Saundersfoot’s Cerise Le Petit came 46th, and Dale’s Iolo Bool came 60th.

An excellent showing in the seven races, against competition from all over England and Wales.

This evening, Wednesday 17th, Tenby Sailing Club Training Principal Alistair Mackay will be welcoming  the Juniors to begin their training at 5.30pm.

Last Thursday, April 11th, in very damp conditions, the car park in frontof the Sailing Club was cleared of boats, giving a good sign that summer is not too far away.

Commodore Blake Shaw oversaw the launch of his Westerly Centaur “Slipstream” in readiness for the first Cruiser race on May 4th.
