BLUE MONSTER SWIM at Abereiddy. This event is part of the ’Swim to the Edge’ Series and is a 2.5 swim across the beach from the Blue Lagoon and back and we had Tracey Thomas competing. There was also a 1 mile swim where Tracey’s sons competed with Owen coming in first place & Lloyd in 3rd. Tracey says - it was lumpy and there was a strong current and wind it was brill and first time they’d run it.
NATIONAL RADIO CARDIFF 10KM RUN - Morgan Harwood Slate ran in 46 mins 38 so, well done to him.
TOUR OF BRITAIN – A ‘gaggle’of Aces rode up to Llandyfaelog hill near Kidwelly last Sunday to cheer on the riders as they rode pass on their way to Carmarthen. They went past very quick but the atmosphere was great and we got on the Tele! Geraint Thomas was spotted amongst them and Chris Froome was ‘lagging behind’ so we shouted ‘Come on Froome-e’ and were awarded with a big cheesy grin from him!
CLUB RIDES: Tuesday - Route 14: (Deer Park and Manorbier) Marsh Road, Trefloyne Lane, St Florence, Coal Lane, The Ridgeway, Stephen’s Green then left onto Deer Park Lane, Across to Golden Lane, Pembroke, Upper Lamphey Road, Lamphey, turn right at Chevrons onto small road to Manorbier, Lydstep, Penally, Tenby. Thursday - Route 62: (Figure of 8 Manorbier, Saundersfoot and Sardis): Tenby, Coast road to Manorbier, turn right for Manorbier station up to Ridgeway, turn left onto Ridgeway. Turn right onto Coal Lane, then right towards St Florence. Across main road into Devonshire Drive, turn right towards New Hedges, left down Sandy Hill into Saundersfoot, Coppett Hall, up hill, turn on last left at top of Wisemans to Sardis, turn left into Kilgetty, Pentlepoir, New Hedges and back to TLC (approx. 23 miles). We have three groups - with a sweeper led social group with the intent that no-one gets left behind and all get a ride to suit their abilities. Helmets to be worn on all club rides and front and rear lights a must now as night’s drawing in. All rides leave Tenby Leisure centre car park at 6 pm.
