Well done to Ceire Merrison (50 miles) and Mr. Will Lewis (100 miles) on gaining their January Run Challenge 2018 medals. This is a ‘run at your pace virtual challenge’ - you go online and choose your distance from 25 miles - 200 miles to complete over a month. This is open to everyone regardless of their ability or location.
Well done also to Hayden Johns and those who took part last Saturday in Tenby Cycles’ Club duathlon. Six athletes braved the elements to complete a 4.1-mile run along Marsh Road to Penally and back to The Salterns for a 18-mile ride out to Lamphey and on return another 4.1-mile run completed.
Jon, from Tenby Cycles will be organising another of these events soon so keep an eye on Facebook.
Our own bionic woman Mandy Draper recently visited the Llanelli Wales Air Ambulance Station to meet the two paramedics who were on duty on the day of her accident. Mandy says: “What an amazing memorable day I had meeting these amazing guys and all the team at Wales Air Ambulance. Absolutely blown away by the work they do. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated from the bottom of my heart. Unfortunately, they rely solely on donations, you never know when you may need them. I never thought for one moment that I would.”
DATES FOR YOUR DIARIES
Maintenance and etiquette evening, Monday, February 26, 7-9 pm, at Hafan y Mor School, Heywood Lane. For new to experienced cyclists, this session will go through the club’s road cycling etiquette and basic bike maintenance. It will be extremely useful for those new to cycling, but also experienced riders who need a little refresher. We would love to see as many people there as possible.
Club AGM, Thursday, March 15, 7.30 pm, at The Esplanade Hotel, Tenby. All welcome to come along to give their input and ideas. We will be electing club committee members and discussing plans for the coming season.
